In 2010 Roland Oostwegel has met the Dutch astronaut André Kuipers at ESA in Noordwijk.
Here they were testing Oostwegel’s globally patented RO1 Shock System for watches.
Andre told Oostwegel that he seemed to lose ‘sense of time’ during his first space mission. Other astronauts complained about this phenomenon as well.
Oostwegel decided to solve this problem by developing a special watch wich could be used in space.
